Seeking:
Principals: Seeking outstanding singer/actors with the ability to sing pop/rock genres and possess an excellent sense of comedy. Good movement skills a plus.

Ensemble: Seeking versatile singers and excellent dancers capable of singing in both musical theatre and pop styles. Solid experience with harmony work needed. Advanced partnering in a range of dance styles from contemporary musical theatre as well as varying 80's genre and 50's rock and roll.

All performers hired for BACK TO THE FUTURE (3-4 performances weekly) will also perform in an original Royal Caribbean Signature Production onboard the STAR of the Seas (3-4 performances weekly).

OPEN CALL INFORMATION: 
Principals: Please prepare two contrasting songs in the pop/rock genre from the 50's - 60's or the 70's - 80's.

Ensemble: Please come prepared to dance first.  Also prepare a 16-bar cut of a pop/rock song from the 50's - 60's or the 70's - 80's.

Bring headshot, resume, and personal songbook in case you are asked to sing something different.

Featured Actor/Singer

Outstanding singer/actors with the ability to sing pop/rock genres and possess an excellent sense of comedy. Will also perform in our original Signature Production.

Lead Vocalist

Outstanding singer/actors with the ability to sing pop/rock genres and possess an excellent sense of comedy. Good movement skills a plus. Will also perform in our original Signature Production.

Dancer Vocalist

Versatile singers and excellent dancers capable of singing in both musical theater and pop styles. Solid experience with harmony work needed. Advanced partnering in a range of dance styles from contemporary musical theatre as well as varying 80's genre and 50's rock and roll. Will also perform in our original Signature Production.

Casting Following Roles:

Marty McFly (Featured Actor)

Male, 18 to 25 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 18-25)

A teenage hero, he is geeky but charismatic and attractive. Excellent rock high-tenor. Great sense of comedy and confident mover.

Doc Brown (Featured Actor)

Male, 40 to 59 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 40-59)

A dreamer, who, as the song says, strives to be a winner, even if he doesn’t quite make it. A friend, mentor, and father/uncle figure to the teenager Marty McFly. A showman with a flair for the unexpected, the actor must play Doc both in his 40s and in his 70s. Eccentric and characterful. Has a great sense of comedy with a strong pop rock voice.

Biff Tannen (Featured Singer)

Male, 20 to 25 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 20-25)
A local bully who comes from a long line of bullies in Hill Valley, most of whom harassed members of the McFly family. Strong tenor/high baritone. He has an imposing physicality.

George McFly (Featured Singer)

Male, 20 to 30 years of age; all ethnicities (Playing Age 20-30)

A geek as a teenager in 1955, he has a penchant for science fiction and writes some of his own but never allows himself to share his stories to anyone due to his fear of rejection. As a middle-aged man, he is of low social status. A very strong physical comedian who can hold a tune. Baritone.

Lorraine Baines-McFly (Featured Singer)

Female, 18 to 25 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 18-25)

18+ to play older (47) and younger (17). The wife of George McFly and mother of Marty. Unhappy and downtrodden in 1985, she has a spunk and zest for life in 1955. Has strong comedy and a strong musical theatre belt with flexibility across the range, (soprano Belt to Eb).

Goldie Wilson/Marvin Berry (Featured Singer)

Male, 30 to 50 years old; African-American, Black-African, Black-Caribbean, Black-Other Areas (Playing Age 30-50)

Mayor of Hill Valley in 1985. Marvin Berry is Chuck Berry’s cousin and the lead singer of the headlining band at the 1955 Enchantment Under the Sea dance. Has strong comedy and an incredible gospel high-tenor voice. Skilled in vocal improvisation.

Principal Strickland (Featured Singer)

Male, 35 to 50 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 35-50)

Doubles various characters in Marty’s present and past, including STRICKLAND: The uptight authoritarian principal at Marty’s high school. May also cover DOC.

Jennifer Parker (Featured Singer)

Female, 18 to 25 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 18-25)

Late teens/early 20s. A smart all-American girl with a heart of gold. The girlfriend of Marty McFly.

Dave McFly (Lead Vocalist)

Male, 25 to 35 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 25-35)

Marty McFly’s older brother. COMEDIC with a rock high-tenor.

Linda McFly (Lead Vocalist)

Female, 20 to 25 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 20-25)

Marty McFly’s older sister. COMEDIC with a strong belt/mix in the upper register. Solid experience with harmony work needed.

Male Ensemble (Dancer Voacalist)

Male, 20 to 30 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 20-30)
