Seeking Experienced Saxophonists for Jazz Orchestra:

We are seeking highly skilled jazz musicians with strong technical ability, exceptional musicality, and proven experience performing in jazz orchestras. Candidates must be skilled improvisers, excellent sight-readers, and adaptable across styles. Broadway or theater pit experience is a plus. 

This is a unique opportunity to perform at a high level while traveling the world to exciting destinations. Musicians perform almost every night and enjoy time during the day to explore ports of call, rehearse, practice, and pursue passion projects. ·         Tenor Saxophonists — Flute and Clarinet doubles required

Application Requirements 

Video Submission:

·         Provide recent performance clips in jazz, big band, funk, and popular music that highlight your soloing ability.

·         Do not submit full concerts – keep the focus on you.

·         This position requires strong jazz improvisation and strong sight-reading proficiency.

Record and submit:

·         One Jazz Standard (with backing track, solo 2 choruses)

·         One Blues (with backing track, solo 2 choruses)

Resume:

·         Include your ensemble experience, specifically detailing any settings where you read written music. (Musical Theater, Big Band, small group Jazz, Funk, etc.)

Audition Process:

·         Selected Applicants will be invited to an online audition.

·         The audition will mainly focus on sight-reading Big Band, Funk, and commercial charts.

·         We will also request that you demonstrate your jazz improvisation playing over a couple of standards during your audition.
